Headtube Reducers allow you to marry steering components that would otherwise be incompatible. We have fi ve different reducer options, and instructions vary slightly depending on the model, so please be sure you’ve purchased the correct size for your frame.

If you lack the knowledge or tools to perform installation, please have your local professional bicycle mechanic perform the installation. Headset press

All-purpose bicycle grease

INSTALLATION FOR: HD9900 (1-1/4 TO 1-1/8")

                                      HD9901 (1-1/8 TO 1")

                                      HD9904 (1.5 TO 1-1/8")

1. Remove old headset cups

2. Ream, face and clean headtube (if necessary)

3. Lightly grease headtube and reducers

4. Using a headset cup press, press the reducers fl ush into the headtube. The reducers are the same for top and bottom

5. Install headset per manufacturer’s instructions

INSTALLATION FOR: HD9903 (KLEIN 2" TO 1-1/8")

1. Remove the handlebar/stem combo and large headset-adjusting cone

2. Remove fork by gently pounding it downward out of the headtube, then remove the large sealed bearings from frame

3. Clean and lightly grease the headtube and the reducers.

4. Using a headset cup press, press the reducers fl ush into the headtube. The reducers are the same for top and bottom

5. Install headset per manufacturer’s instructions

INSTALLATION FOR: HD9902 (CANNONDALE HEADSHOK TO 1-1/8")

1. Remove the Headshok assembly from frame, but DO NOT remove the Headshok headset cups from the frame

2. Carefully remove the sealed cartridge bearings from the Headshok headset cups

3. Clean and lightly grease the Headshok headset cups and the reducers

4. Using a headset cup press, press the reducers fl ush into the Headshok headset cups. The thick reducer presses into the bottom cup, and the thin reducer presses into the top cup

5. Install headset per manufacturer’s instructions

LIMITED 2-YEAR WARRANTY

This Problem Solvers product is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for two (2) years, from the original date of retail purchase by the consumer, subject to the limitations detailed below. This limited warranty is expressly limited to the repair or replacement of the original product, at the option of Problem Solvers, and is the sole remedy of the warranty. This limited warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the Problem Solvers product and is not transferable. In no event shall Problem Solvers be liable for any loss, inconvenience or damage, whether direct, incidental or consequential or otherwise resulting from breach of any express or implied warranty or condition, of merchantability, fi tness for a particular purpose, or otherwise with respect to this product except as set forth herein.

This warranty does not cover the following:

• Damage due to improper assembly or follow-up maintenance or lack of skill, competence or experience of the user.

• Products that have been modifi ed, neglected, used in competition or for commercial purposes, misused or abused, involved in accidents or anything other than normal use

• Damage or deterioration to the surface fi nish, aesthetics or appearance of the product

• Normal wear and tear

• Labor required to remove and/or refi t and re-adjust the product within the bicycle assembly

This warranty gives the consumer specifi c legal rights, and those rights and other rights may vary from state to state.
